Dr. Lisa Apple
Dr. Apple earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Washington (2009) and her Bachelors of Science degree in Health Psychology/Human Biology at Bastyr University (2005). She is certified in BASI Pilates method with a dance emphasis (2003).
She became inspired to become a physical therapist during her fifteen-year career as a professional ballet dancer. As a professional dancer, Lisa performed in over 150 performances a year with San Francisco Ballet, Ballets Des Monte Carlo, and as a Principal dancer with Pacific Northwest Ballet. She toured through the United States and Europe with these three major dance companies and had the opportunity to work with many choreographers along the way.
She has worked with dancers from Boston Ballet School, North Carolina Ballet School of the Arts and Pacific Northwest Ballet School. She enjoys teaching ballet and has taught in many regional ballet schools throughout the United States. Lisa also offers a unique Pilates fusion mat class. It is inspired by floor barre, Pilates, yoga and conditioning, combining strength, grace, balance and power. This class called Pilates fusion mat class is the perfect combination of three-dimensional movement, weight-bearing exercise, core control and grace for dancers.
